The Sports Industry

P1. Describes the range of facilities and opportunities for Sport in London borough of Bexley – using examples from the public, voluntary and private sector.

Student activity

In groups of 4-5 complete a brainstorming session of all the sports facilities which you have in your local area. Then using the criteria set out above divide them into public, private or voluntary sector.

P2. Describes the range of opportunities for Sport as a result of the successful Olympic Bid, focusing on the development and improvement of facilities in the London area – those provided by the public, voluntary and private sector

P3. Describes how Sport is organised and funded, from national to local level.

P4. Describes the range of opportunities available locally to contribute towards the playing or administration of the sport, and reasons for participation

P5. Describes the factors that affect participation in the sport – disability, provision, cost, ethnicity, location, age.

P6. Describes and explains the strategies used by local clubs, schools and providers of the sport to encourage wider participation.
