Dealing with the ball pulled back

Organisation

  • A server stands on the goal line between the six yard box and the edge of the area.
  • A cone or a defender stands level with the near post and one yard inside the six yard box.
  • An attacker stands parallel to the penalty spot in line with the back post.
  • The Goalkeeper starts at the near post.

Exercise

The Keeper throws it to the server, who tries to pass between defender and Keeper to the attacker. If the ball goes through the space the attacker must shoot first time. Can the Keeper make the match winning save. Look for lots of good attitude from the Keeper. Change Keeper and alternate sides regularly.
