Turns and Key factors
- The Inside Hook
- Look at the ball
- Inside of the foot around the front of the ball
- Standing foot inside of the ball
- Hook or chop the ball back past the standing foot
- Knees bent for flexibility and once turned speed away from the defender
- Head follows the ball around then lifts
- The Outside Hook
- Use the outside of the foot around the front of the ball
- The Drag Back Turn
- Use the sole of the foot to stop the ball and drag it back
- Use the outside or inside of the foot to take the ball away
- The Stop Turn
- Use the sole of the foot to stop the ball.Go past it
- Either half turn take the ball with the outside of the nearest foot "or"
- Full turn and take the ball with the inside of the nearest foot
- The Cruyff Turn
- Raise your arm and fake to strike the ball
- Striking foot goes around the front of theball and with the toe drag the
ball back through the legs turning with the ball
- Step Around Turn
- Step over-around the ball with one foot
- Swivel and spin on front foot taking the ball away with the other foot
- Step Over Drag On
- Tuck one foot under the ball
- Step over and place the other foot on the ground
- Back foot draws the ball forward as the player spins
- Step Over Turn and Drag
- Inside of the foot around and in front of the ball
- Body turns 180 degrees
- Trailing foot drags the ball
- Continue to turn 180 degrees and take the ball past the opponent
- Drag Back With Disguises
- Fake to play as in the Cruyff turn but put a foot on the ball
- Drag back and change direction, across the body, behind the body

- When pressured from behind decide which turn will be most effective

- X3 plays the ball to X1 and then pressures
- At this stage condition X3 not to try and win the ball
- X1 turns and plays the ball to X2 and pressures
- As players become better then defenders can try harder to win the ball

- Body position and passing angle will also be important in the turn
- Head up to pass
- Movement to create space
Organisation, Direction and Progression
- A.X3 plays to X1 who cannot play the ball back to X3
- X3 can play either to X1 or X2
- X1 can interpass with X2
- O1 and O2 must mark closely
- If O1 and O2 win the ball then they play can play the ball to O3 or
O4 then set up a turning-passing sequence.
- Defenders can be conditioned at first
