Taking The Ball At The Back Post

Organisation
  • Servers S1 (area A) and S2 (area B) throw the ball in for the Keeper to take at the back post.
  • The Keeper stands on the back post and runs to the near post.
  • The server then delivers the ball to the back post for the Keeper to retreat.
  • Alternate sides and progress to kicked crosses.

Key Points
  1. Correct use of feet.Sideways,keep eyes on the ball.Don't turn your body.
  2. Spring from furthest leg.Take off from your back foot.
  3. Catch the ball in front of you in your vision.
  4. Communication.Keepers or away.
  5. Drop to the floor if necessary.
