Spreading Out as a Team

Organisation

  • Grid is 60 yds x 30 yds.
  • Players play in two 25 x 30 grids with a 10 yd free zone separating them.
  • 3 v 3 + one neutral player in each area therefore 4 v 3 in possession.
  • Two target players- one behind each end line.
  • Play from one zone across the free zone to serve the ball to the target player. If you score a point by passing to the target player you regain possession and play to the opposite target man.

Key Points

  1. 'Spreading out as a team when in possession
  2. Support positions of maximum advantage
  3. Pass forward, control forward if possible.
  4. Appropriate controlling touch of the ball.
  5. Combination play if under pressure.
  6. Pass and receive using the least number of touches
