1. Pass and Move to Shoot.
- Players line up as X2,
- One player is on the edge of the area,X1.
- The first
player X2 passes to X1 and then follows his ball to where X1 started.
- X1 takes
a touch around the cone and then shoots.
- X1 then either goes back to the end
of the X2 line or if you are using both sides of the goal joins the back
of the other group.
2. Drop Your Shoulder
- Drop your shoulder as the ball arrives and come in to shoot.
- Exaggerate your
movement, throw your weight one way then go the other.
- When you open up your
body aim for the far post curler.
- If bad first touch look for low driven shot
to the near post.
- Take your time, steady yourself.
3. Straight on Shots
- Two servers stand on the Goal line and players line up in two groups
behind the Coach.
- The servers take turns passing a diagonal ball to the opposite
group.
- The first player from the group cushions the ball to the coach who
plays it back or sets up the first player from the other group.
- Both players
run in, one to shoot and one for rebounds.
- If in doubt slow yourself down, hit
the target.
4. The Coach Moves Out
- Servers play same diagonal ball.
- The first player touches the ball
for his partner from the other group to shoot.
- Try to cushion the ball
into his stride.
- Both players still run in.
- Don't go early, don't get in front
of the ball.
- Head down, look at the Keeper and then down at the ball.
5. Breaking the Offside Trap
- Player 1 plays the same diagonal ball to player
2,
- Player 2 cushions the ball to the coach who plays it to the player in the other
group.
- He plays in either player 3 who hold their runs to stay on side.
- The
coach is the last defender.
6. Running at the Coach
- The players get a ball each and line up outside the area.
- The coach acts as
a passive defender.
- Play the ball to the Coach who plays it back.
- Run at the
Coach at pace take it around him and shoot.
- One touch around the coach and
shoot, follow your ball looking for rebounds.
- Progress to doing a trick just
before the Coach, exaggerate your movements.
- Do a step over or a Mathews.
- Look
for low shots across the Keeper.
