Starting Positions
- Weak shot to Goalkeeper.
- Midfielder losses ball to Full-back.
- Defensive header from the Centre Back falls to Midfielder.
Key Points
1. Create Space.
- Start from the Goalkeeper.
- Goalkeeper can you pass it forward?
- Make sure you pass the ball in front
of the Defenders.
- Defenders spread out side to side to create space.
- Open
up and control the ball with your outside foot. This means you will be half
turned.
The Goalkeeper should only pass to x1 if he
can turn comfortably.
2. Decision of Pass. Look up-can you pass forward? The best passes out of Defence are,
- Behind the Defence.
- To the feet of the furthest forward.
- Forward so the Ball takes out Defenders.
- Simple Ball to retain possession either sideways or backwards.
- Long diagonal passes are best when the Defence has lost its shape or
been pulled over.
Forwards you should be Creating Space by
- Movement from end to end.
- Moving into Space in front of the Defence.
- By coming short to feet.
3. Quality of Pass.
- Pass to feet, hit too hard rather than too soft.
- Remember Weight, Accuracy, Timing
and Disguise of pass.
4. End Product. You should finish with a shot or cross.
