Goalkeeping: Endurance Exercises

Activities of sustained periods with short recovery time.

Practices

1. Tag

  • The Keeper runs to a ball, then back to the goal.
  • You can use cones or you can make the Keeper come back to make a save.

2. High-Lows

  • Two Coaches or servers stand just inside the posts on the 6 yard line.
  • They vary their throws high or low.
  • The Keeper makes the save off one then gets up to save from the other and so on.
  • Always give the Keeper a chance to make the save.

3. Bombardment

  • Balls are scattered liberally inside the box.
  • The Coach goes to a ball and shoots, he lets the Keeper get up and then shoots another.
  • Always give the Keeper a chance to make the save
