Five Second Goal
- From the Halfway line send 4 players to run on and score, they only have 5
seconds to score.
- The ball should be played in front of the forwards and not
to feet.
- The ideal goal would have a maximum of two touches each and at least
two players crossing at pace.
- So stimulate players to intercross and use their
imagination.
- Get the ball in early.
Progression
- Put in Centre Forward but still only have a total of 4 runners.
- Work more
on intercrossing and diagonal runs.
- One of the three attackers lays the ball
up to the centre forward who either lays it off or turns with the ball.
- Now add Defenders
Game
- Start by Reds passing the ball around the cones (square), they keep passing
until the Coach blows a whistle.
- The Red with the Ball passes it into the
middle of the square and all the Reds stand still.
- The Attackers (Blues) must stand on the outside of the square and not touch
the ball until the whistle blows. Then one player (the nearest) must go into
the square and retrieve the ball.
- He must pass straight to the centre
forward. Attackers must be switched on.
Still 5 seconds to score and 4 Attackers running, remember play the ball into
space in front of the player and rebounds from shots.
Progressions
- Put in Central Defender to mark the Centre Forward. The Centre Forward has
one touch before the Central Defender can make a challenge.Three players
pass the Ball around the square,on the whistle they leave the ball in.
- Offsides.
- Two Central Defenders around or marking the Centre Forward. Two players pass
to each other,on the whistle they leave the ball in.
- Once the Ball is retrieved you can pass to any forward.
- All the Defenders are alive on the retrievers first touch.
You can now progress to a Phase of Play or a small sided
game
